Eligibility
*If your business location has changed, or any other changes such as business name change, owners, officers or ownership type to the account please STOP do not continue with renewal, instead send an e-mail to: Businfo@tax.cccounty.us to check whether NEW address falls in the County's unincorporated area or within a specific city and or to make appropriate changes prior to submitting payment.
**Continuing with renewal prior to making appropriate changes can cost you $10.00 for a duplicate business license certificate.
ATTENTION TOBACCO RETAILERS: Please be advised of the newer Tobacco Control Laws that affect unincorporated areas of Contra Costa. These laws include but are not limited to:
• No sale of flavored tobacco products within 1000 feet of a school, park, playground, or library
• No sale of cigars in a package of fewer than 10 cigars. Cigars priced at $5 or more per cigar, including taxes and fees, are exempt
• No sale of any tobacco products at a business that has a pharmacy as of July 1, 2018.
• Number of County tobacco retailer licenses capped at 90.
Timely renewal of County tobacco retailer licenses before July 1, 2018 is important to avoid any issues with maintaining the license

Please note credit card, debit card, or eCheck payments are accepted. There is a 2.50% convenience fee or $3.50 minimum charge for credit and debit card payments. There is no fee for eCheck payments.
